Biographical Sketch:
- Patricia Walters currently holds the position of Deputy Chief Counsel with the Golden Field Office of the U.S. Department of Energy in Golden, Colorado. The Golden Field Office is responsible for implementing federal programs for DOE's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) in the areas of research, development, demonstration and commercialization of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies. Golden's activities include oversight and collaboration with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory as well as cooperative agreements and grants with universities, industry, individuals, state governments and non-profit organizations. Patty is involved in all facets of a legal practice which supports the implementation of these programs nationwide.
- Prior to assuming this position, Patty served as an Attorney-Adviser in the Office of the Assistant General Counsel for Procurement and Financial Assistance at DOE Headquarters after spending three years in private practice in Washington, D.C. Upon law school graduation, she clerked for a federal judge with the United States Court of Federal Claims. Patty received her law degree from the Dickinson School of Law in Carlisle, Pennsylvania and her undergraduate degree in Anthropology from Reed College in Portland, Oregon. She is a member of the bar in Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia. She is also a member of the American Bar Association, Public Contract Law Section and the Colorado Renewable Energy Society.
