Biographical Sketch:

- Mike Tucker is a staff researcher in the Materials Sciences Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). His expertise is in solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) design, fabrication, and testing, and he has 12 related patents pending. Mike has also worked with direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs) as a postdoctoral fellow at Uppsala University, Sweden. He received a chemical engineering B.S. degree with honors from Brown University in 1997, graduating magna cum laude. In 2001 he received a doctorate degree in chemical engineering from UC Berkeley, where his PhD research focused on lithium battery materials. Mike has also been an active leader in the Cal Hiking and Outdoor Society since 1997.
